On 23rd February, I was invited by the National Library of Sri Lanka (NLSL) to deliver a lecture on "National Library of Korea and its' Services" at the National Library Auditorium in Colombo.
My lecture was focused on the national bibliographic control in South Korea including the legal deposit system, Korean National Bibliography, Korean Decimal classification, Korean Cataloguing Rules, KORMARC, KOLIS-NET, and OASIS. Also I introduced about various services in the National Library of Korea (NLK) including CDRS, Document Delivery, ILL services, National Library for Children & Young Adults and conservation & preservation practices in the NLK.
The lecture was listened by the Chairman, Director General, and the Librarians of NLSL. They were very impressed about the sound bibliographic control system in South Korea as well as the effective services of the NLK.
